You’ve tried your best, but now your anxiety is starting to feel unmanageable. Most people wouldn’t know, you look put together and cheerful on the outside, but on the inside you are filled with self-doubt, insecurity, and nervous energy. Maybe you feel too spread thin. Little inconveniences quickly send a surge of stress through your whole body. You feel like you spend a lot of time and energy planning (even making plans B, C, and D) making sure everything runs smoothly. A minor setback can turn a little trickle of self-criticism into a broken fire hydrant of negative thoughts or blame.

The more anxious you feel, the more exhausted you are at the end of the day. Maybe you’ve noticed that you’re “checking out” more. The weekends are never long enough. You feel like you need longer to recharge. Perhaps after work, you sit on on the couch and scroll on your phone. Before you know it, hours have passed and it’s well after midnight and already time for bed. You’d just rather be in your phone than in your head.

Therapy can help you learn how to control your anxiety so it doesn’t control you.

You are not broken, you just have an overactive nervous system. Our bodies tend to have reactions based on learned experiences, sometimes it can go to extremes to protect us. Whether the lesson learned was that there were negative consequences if you weren’t “perfect” or unpredictability itself is chaotic, your body will go to great lengths to protect you.

As we work together, I hope you will share your story with me. You will gain an increased compassionate understanding of yourself and your body cues. Together we will look at your defense mechanisms and how we can gently soothe and challenge.

rather than avoid the things in life that feel overwhelming, I will sit beside you and encourage you to face them. With therapy, you will have an increased ability to tolerate uncomfortable emotions while having confidence and understanding of your needs. Therapy can be a place where you reconnect with yourself and connect authentically; I will never try to “fix” you. I will lead with empathy and curiosity.

  • At first, I will try to get to know you and get a sense of what your goals are for therapy. After that, I leave it to you to use the space however you feel like you need to. whether you would like to process the past, more recent events, or stick closer to your treatment goals is entirely up to you,

  • Therapy can be as long or as short as you need. While I can’t assign a timeline for you, you should start to notice some change. If you feel like you aren’t making the progress you would like please let me know so we can take a closer look and address any blocks.
