EFT is an attachment-based method that is grounded in how we form secure relationships and develop a strong sense of self.

  • EFT is a tehcnique founded by therapist Dr. Sue Johnson. Using attachment science, she swears in the power of building lasting emotional bonds that is grounded in exploration, safety and experience. together we will explore your emotional distress, increase distress tolerance, discuss patterns as defense mechanisms and how you can change.

  • We can go at the pace you need. I am open to discussing how your past influences your present reality as well as keeping you aligned with your treatment goals.

  • understanding why we do what we do in a nonjudgmental way makes space for change. Having a framework for a safe trusting relationship sets the foundation for you to do the same with other relationships in your life. Building compassion for yourself also invites more compassion towards others

FAQs

  • EFT targets the vulnerable emotion underneath protective behaviors that may be labled as “problematic”. It it’s core, the philosophy of EFT is that we are all are wired for connection and we strive to be understood and heard. EFT is not perscriptive, it utilizes in the moemtn processing and experiencing. Rather than focusing on logic or behaviors, EFT stresses that emotions are the most potent tool to harness change.

    To illustrate an example: it’s common knowledge that it is not enough to simply have a goal (hello gym memberships and new years resoltions). The people who are most successful at achieving their goals have a crystalized WHY. That is the emotional invenstment. The goal has shifted from logic to an emotional based value.

  • Therapy can be as long or as short as you need. While I can’t assign a timeline for you, you should start to notice some changes. If you feel like you aren’t making the progress you would like please let me know so we can take a closer look and decide the best course of action.
